Stuart specialises in working with private clients and advises owner managed businesses. He is a Chartered Tax Advisor, having qualified with the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1978. Stuart is a tax expert advising on all areas of taxation for business and for individuals. He is also a Member of The Association of Taxation Technicians and a Member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Stuart joined the practice in 1986. After a number of successful years as the Taylor Partnership, the firm became The Leaman Partnership, at which time (in 2001), Paul Mattei became a partner. In 2013, the firm went on to rebrand as Leaman Mattei in recognition of the long working relationship and partnership between Stuart Leaman and Paul Mattei.

Stuart is a regular media commentator on matters of tax and has appeared on BBC’s Newsnight.
